Elephant Sanctuary co-founder breaks the silence
Carol Buckley tells her story online

The Elephant Sanctuary co-founder and former CEO Carol Buckley posted online information of how she was forced into a leave of absence in November, 2009 by the Board of Directors. In January, 2010, she was relieved of her duties as CEO, President and Board Member and offered a position with the Sanctuary as Director of Global Outreach.
According to the report, Buckley remains in her home on the grounds of the Sanctuary but only is allowed limited access to the elephants, including her elephant, Tarra, for whom the Sanctuary was founded originally.
