Legislator's daughter recovering from accident

After being struck by a truck while checking the family’s mailbox a few weeks ago, Jenna Hensley, daughter of State Representative Joey Hensley, is home from a stay in Vanderbilt Hospital’s Stallworth Rehabilitation Center. She sustained a concussion, a brain and neck injury, a right broken leg, 4 broken ribs, a pulmonary contusion, liver, kidney and spleen lacerations, and multiple abrasions. Jenna is expected to make a complete recovery.
“We can’t put into words the gratitude and thankfulness our hearts feel toward those who kept her lifted up in prayer. We are so humbled by all the phone calls, visits, cards, gifts and prayers we have received during this difficult time,” said Dr. Hensley.
“We definitely felt the prayers of everyone, especially the times when we had no strength; it was God’s strength that carried us through. We will be eternally grateful for all the prayers that went up on our behalf,” said Gina Hensley.
