Lewis Health Center Joins Dispensary of Hope Network

Partnership provides access to needed medications
Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation announced today a new partnership between the Lewis Health Center and the Dispensary of Hope to provide prescription medications to individuals in Lewis County who do not have prescription insurance coverage.  The program can also benefit commercially insured patients who do not have prescription coverage but otherwise qualify, Medicare patients who fall in the part D gap and Medicaid patients who have reached the prescription limit.

The Dispensary of Hope is a growing network of prescription medicine dispensing sites, sourcing partners and financial partners that assist poor and underserved individuals in getting the medications they need for the short and long-term.

“Here at the Lewis Health Center, we believe it is important to provide medications directly to patients to ensure effective medical treatment – regardless of one’s ability to pay,” said Dr. Dustin Flowers, Director of the Lewis Health Center. “This partnership with the Dispensary of Hope allows us to do just that which will help our patients have better healthcare.”

Lewis Health Center will join 35 other dispensing sites across Tennessee.  It is the goal of the Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation to add another dispensing site in Maury County at the Primary Health Clinic located on the Maury Regional Medical Center campus, according to Dr. Eslick Daniel, Foundation Chairman.

To be eligible to receive medications from the Dispensary of Hope at the Lewis Health Center, you must be an established patient of the clinic for at least six months.  The staff at the Lewis Health Center will assist patients in understanding the criteria to be eligible for the program.

“The Dispensary of Hope is proud to partner with a clinic in Hohenwald. I am confident it will have a significant impact on the lives of many in the Lewis County area,” said Jason Dinger, Chief Executive Officer of the Dispensary of Hope.

The Dispensary of Hope and the Lewis Health Center can always use support from local physicians who can donate excess, unexpired medications to the Dispensary. Please visit: www.dispensaryofhope.org and click “Donate Meds” if you are able to contribute.
