Lite-a-Light for Christmas

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

The Lite-a-Light program held annually by the Pilot Club of Hohenwald will be kicked off Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. when a decorated tree under the Gazebo on South Maple Street will be lighted.

This year will be the 21st year for the Lite-a-Light program.

The program was the first fundraiser for the Pilot Club of Hohenwald which was organized in Lewis County in October, 1989 and chartered in November. The service organization has for its foremost objective been helping those with brain related injuries.

An evergreen tree was planted by the club in 1989 in front of the Depot on East Main Street. The tree was lighted by donations of local residents given in memory of or to honor a family member or friend.

The tree planted at the Depot grew too large for members of the club to decorate so a change of location was made.
