Live at the Strand Saturday
By Scarlette Woodall,
Strand Theatre Manager
The Strand Theatre doors will open at 7 p.m. Saturday for its Valentine’s concert. Love Lyrics and Laughs begins at 7:30 p.m.
Taking the stage with be a band of young musicians, Josh Barnett, Corey Dunn, Peter Dickson, Zach Newbold, and Hannah Thomas. Josh Barnett and the Busted Bridges will start off the evening by filling the theatre proper with their unique sound.
It is hard to describe this genre; it is just something you have to experience personally to fully appreciate the creative chemistry of these artists. “It’s Americana,” Barnett said of the folk and bluegrass blend. Outstanding instrumentals and harmonic vocals add depth to the group’s unique sound.
Love Lyrics and Laughs is an opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s eve close to home with that special someone or with friends. And to experience quality entertainment, without traveling to the big city.
If you plan to spend this Valentine’s eve at the Strand Theatre, you’ll be glad you did.
We will begin our fun filled evening with several tunes by the Busted Bridges band; while the band takes a short break, volunteers will be recruited from our audience to play couples trivia, for the chance to win prizes. Then all will gather in the gallery to visit our hot fudge cake dessert bar, catered by Buffalo River Coffee Company.
Josh Barnett and the Busted Bridges will return to the stage for their final set, to conclude “An evening to remember.” Tickets are on sale at Memory Junction Antique Company, while supply lasts. Love Lyrics and Laughs is sponsored by the Lewis County Herald, Joseph Rooker State Farm Insurance and Bank of Lewis County.
