Thursday, December 17th, 2009

“Flu-like” illnesses is defined as those patients who present with flu-like symptoms- including fever, chills, cough or other respiratory problems. Because specific testing is no longer recommended for disease surveillance these patients have not undergone confirmatory lab testing. The number of patients for each emergency department represents the previous 24-hour period.
