Veteran names added to local war memorial
Memorial Day Parade Monday
Friday, May 28th, 2010
Edd Sharp and Mike Robertson of Lawrenceburg Monument Company stand in front of the monument at the Lewis County Courthouse lawn which names Lewis Countians killed in service in the last century. Sammye Jo and William Lawson researched and found four names had been omitted from the list. Those names were Vietnam, Junior Ray Burns, World War 1, Baxter Johnston, John M. Wix, and Paul Peevyhouse. Mr. Robertson engraved the names on the monument at no cost.
A Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 31, 2010 beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will assemble at Lewis County Middle School on Park Avenue and march to the lawn of the Lewis County Court House, where a program is planned.
