Daisy Evelyn Melton Martin, age 87 of Hohenwald, passed away December 23, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Hohenwald to the late Horace Eugene Melton and Edith Reed Melton Patterson on January 29, 1932.

Her first job was in Nashville at Bell South. After leaving Bell South, she began a 30-year career with Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools where she had immense joy driving for children with special needs.

Ms. Martin is survived by a daughter, Tammy Martin Newman; a son, David Glenn Martin; grandchildren, Corey Lee Newman and Feacha Gay Whitaker; siblings, Ronnie (Slick) Melton (Peggy), Daryl (Louise) Patterson, Wilma Jean Melton, Helen (Andy) San Miguel, and Shirley (Charles) Garland.

Along with her parents, Ms. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Corbett Martin; a daughter, Sharon Whitaker; and sisters, Patricia Melton Elliott, Delores (CheeChee) Melton McCaleb; and stepfather, Melvin (Peter) Patterson.

Funeral service was conducted Friday, December 27 at 12 noon in the chapel of Adair Funeral and Cremation Services with Bill Webb and. Rev. Joe Gray officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
