Irene Long

Irene Long, age 92 of Summertown, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Magnolia Healthcare and Rehab in Columbia. She was a native of Lawrence County, retired from Henry I. Siegel, and was a member of Barnesville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John D. and Ella Wyrick Shrader; her first husband, John E. Clayton; her second husband, Troy Long; three brothers, James M. Shrader, Aaron M. Shrader, and Harold Shrader; one sister, Bertha Spears; one daughter, Ima Jean Clayton; and one granddaughter, Teresa Kilpatrick.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Barnes (David) of Hohenwald and Brenda Savage (Nickey) of Mt. Pleasant; two granddaughters, Sherry Alexander of Spring Hill and Tonya Kelly of Mt. Pleasant; five great-grandchildren, Evan Kilpatrick (Morgan), Brittany Baynes (Evan), Laine Alexander, Stephanie Hughes (Chris), and Lauren Kelly; two great-great-grandchildren, Micah Kilpatrick and Emery Kilpatrick; and two nephews, James M. Shrader and Odell Spears.

Funeral service was held at Neal Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg on Thursday, December 26, with Reggie Coleman, Odell Spears, and Evan Kilpatrick officiating. Interment followed in the Napier Cemetery in Lewis County.
