Donna Kay Coan, age 64, passed away on January 2, 2020, in Abilene, Texas.

She was born July 16, 1955 in Hohenwald to Billy Duncan and Martha (Millsap) Coalston. On May 25, 1994, she was united in marriage to William Stanley McCrum in Brownwood, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2017.

Kay was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a very strong work ethic and loved her children and grandchildren fiercely. She was the district manager at Ballow Oil for many years, worked as a manager at Alco and most recently, the General Manager at Stripes Convenience Store in Comanche, Texas. Kay loved her family, camping, getting her nails done and her cats. She never met a stranger and was loved by many. She was a member for Zion Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Shane Simons and wife, Christine of Gatesville, Texas, Jennifer Coan Fizer and husband, Johnnie of Comanche, Texas, Laston Byrd of Comanche, Texas, Shannon Coan and wife, April, of Odessa, Texas; and Lisa Mitchell and husband, Mitch of Weatherford, Texas; four step-children, Tammy, Michael, Melinda and Melissa; three grandchildren, Jayton Fizer, Austin Coan and Katrina Coan; numerous step-grandchildren; seven siblings, Linda Pierce of DeLeon, Texas, Mary and Mike Simmons and Bobby and Rita Duncan of Hohenwald; Jimbo and Laurie Duncan and B.J. Abels of DeLeon, Texas, Rosemary Gober of Gatesville, Texas and Joe David Arnold of Comanche, Texas; along with seven step-siblings, Gary, William, James, George David, Ronnie, Brenda, and Glenda; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Coan; parents, Billy Duncan, Martha and George Coalston; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2020 at Comanche Funeral Home in Texas.
