Elk's Lodge Formed

January 23, 2020

Lewis County Elk’s Lodge 2883 became official as of January 10, 2020. The local lodge has over 100 paid members so far. Officers are expected to be elected in April.

In thousands of communities, the men and women of lodges work to meet local needs, whether it is funding the food bank, supplying instruments for the high school band, holding a drug-free prom, or promoting lieteracy at libraries. Each year, each lodge receives $8,000 for community projects.

Elks are the largest grant giver, other than the governor.

The Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of Elks, disburses more than $34 million annually. The Foundation helps Elks build stronger communities through programs that support youth, meet the needs of today’s veterans and fund projects that improve the quality of life in areas where Elks live and work.

The local Foundation committee consists of 12 members.

The Elk’s Lodge, a 501c3, is looking for a location to hold meetings, add a restaurant and bar.
