Alvin Dale Talley

Mr. Alvin Dale Talley, of Pleasantville, passed away on Thursday, January 16 at the age of 69. Dale, as he was known, was born in Hohenwald to the late Ernest Ray Talley & Ruby Quillen. He worked as the maintenance supervisor for Camp Nacome for 43 years. He preached at the Lower Sulphur Church of Christ and the Byers Chapel Church of Christ until his failing health no longer allowed.

His family stated he worked most of his life, and during the summer when he wasn't working, he was mowing yards. He loved watching sports and loved the Lone Ranger and Andy Griffith.

He is survived by daughter, Angela (Jerry) Bennett of Pleasantville; brothers, Terry Talley of Linden and Larry Talley of Centerville; a son who he always called his adopted son, Matt Mastre, and a cat named Baby Girl. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Kathy Runions.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 20 at McDonald Funeral Home. Jerry Kelly officiated. Burial followed at the Bastin Cemetery.
