Aurelia H. Francis, 95, of Hohenwald, passed away at her home on Sunday, January 26, 2020, surrounded by her family and close friend.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 10, 1924, to Floyd and Helen Hankins. She was a layout designer in the publications industry for a number of years, and also held a social worker position for a period of time.

"She was a highly educated librarian. I knew her as a loving and compassionate soul, and always appreciated her encouraging visits. She also cared about the residents of the nursing home and would take them magazines to help encourage them to read," Lewis County Public Library Director Crystal Nash stated.

She is survived by a sister, Ellen (Paul) Turner of Dundee, Michigan; nephews, Kevin Keveney of Harper Woods, Michigan and Keith (Lori) Keveney of Dearborn, Michigan; and nieces, Shawn (Greg) Cornellissen of Livonia, Michigan and Kerry (Tom) Lannen of Dearborn Heights, Michigan.

Her parents and several siblings preceeded her in death.

Rosary service was held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29. Funeral Mass will be held today, Thursday, January 30, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hohenwald.

McDonald Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
