J.D. Carroll, age 76, passed away at his residence on February 6, 2020. He was born in Lewis County on May 27, 1943 to the late Leonard and Mamie Carroll.

Along with his parents, Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Carroll, and son, Johnny Wayne Carroll.

Anyone who is from Hohenwald knew Mr. J. D. by the nickname of "Nub" or "Mr. 45." He enjoyed getting in his Chevy Blazer and just cruising around town. In his spare time, he enjoyed buying old cars and restoring them. On beautiful days he would head out for some fishing. His one true passion was also his career. From the age of nine up until two months ago, he was an independent logging truck driver.

In his eyes nothing was more important to him than his family. Anyone who met him would never forget him.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his daughter, Cindy Kilpatrick; grandchildren, Daniel Kilpatrick (Maria), Misty Clayton (Aaron); great grandchildren Jayce and Gauge Clayton, LaShaya, Ahnna and Kyden Kilpatrick; brothers, Lonnie and Herman Carroll; and a sister, Helen McCann.

Funeral service was conducted Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 1 p.m. with Glenn Floyd officiating. Burial followed at Twin Oaks Cemetery in Hohenwald.
