Schools close, limited social contact urged as COVID-19 spreads

The soft drink aisle at Walmart was beginning to empty this week and sections of other shelves were emptying as locals began stocking home pantries in preparation for the unknown as Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced closure of schools across the state and President Donald Trump declared the coronavirus pandemic a national emergency.
If you have tuned into the news, scrolled through Facebook, or heard the recent talk around town, then chances are you have heard about COVID-19.
On Friday of last week, President Trump declared a national emergency in response to the virus, also known as the coronavirus. In the same declaration, President Trump announced that $50 billion was going to be dedicated to combating COVID-19.
President Trump made this announcement in the hopes of containing the spread of the virus and the effects have already started to be felt locally.
