Early Tuesday, March 17, the news arrived of the passing of local attorney William Landis Turner, age 79, who passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia following a brief illness.

Landis and his wife, Janet, moved to Hohenwald in 1967 where he joined the Hohenwald law firm founded by William C. Keaton, which became known as Keaton & Turner. Current Lewis County Circuit Judge Michael Spitzer later joined the firm.
