Harvey Labron Williams, age 77 of Cottontown, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020.

Born October 25, 1942 in Chattanooga, Labron graduated from Central High School in 1961 and attended the University of Chattanooga before his entry in the United States Army. He was a devoted family man and passionate fan of the Volunteers, Commodores, Titans and Predators. Labron was employed by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation for more than 40 years, retiring in 2008, and was a longtime baseball and softball umpire in Nashville.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; daughter, Heather Hamby (Kevin); and grandchildren, Makayla and Katie of Rockwood; daughter, Michelle Cowan (Bill) and grandchildren, Makayla, Makenzie and Caden of Ardmore, Oklahoma; brother, Kenneth Williams (Cathy) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; step-daughter, Nikki Taylor (Jon) and granddaughter, Madelyn of Hohenwald; step-daughter, Natalie Edwards (Jami) and grandchildren, Emma, Dalton, Eli, Gracelyn, Braylynn and Brayleigh of Hohenwald; step-son, Nathan Spiess of Nashville; and loving nieces and extended family.


Labron was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Lucille Williams of Chattanooga.

He was laid to rest Wednesday, April 1 in a private family service at Whitehead Cemetery on Topsy Road in Wayne County. The family will host a public memorial service to be announced at a later date.
