Richard McNabb

Richard Melvin McNabb was born April 12, 1942 in Centerville to the late Albert Lee and Lucille Anglin McNabb. He departed this life on April 7, 2020 in Waynesboro, making his stay in this life some 77 years, 11 months and 26 days.

Mr. McNabb was a plant manager for Genesco, loved spending time on his farm and with his family and was an active member of the Waynesboro Church of Christ, where he served as a Deacon. He was united in marriage to Mary Emma Grimes on October 25, 1967.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Emma Grimes McNabb of Waynesboro; a son, Darian McNabb and wife, Tanya, of Waynesboro; two daughters, Karen Johnson and husband, Scotty, of Waynesboro and Andrea Hornal and husband, T.J., of Spring Hill; three sisters, Faye Allen of Tampa, Florida, Linda Burlison and Kay Campbell of Centerville; seven grandchildren, Julie Skelton, Bryce Johnson, Kasee Johnson, Quinn Hornal, Sawyer Hornal, Samantha McNabb and Jacob McNabb; five great grandchildren, Brody and Logan Norman, Madeline, Kaylee and Hunter Skelton; and sisters-in-law, Patsy James and Peggy Cagle of Hohenwald.


In addition to his parents, Mr. McNabb was preceded in death by a sister, Louella Bates.

Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro assisted the family with arrangements.
