SNAP assistance for 60 and older

April 30, 2020

SNAP, a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program formerly referred to as Food Stamps, for 60 and older or any individuals who are disabled are asked to look at all their shelter costs and medical deductions, especially outstanding medical bills. The State of Tennessee and the USDA is providing assistance.

“Do you know how much money is lost in your county on a yearly basis because someone did not apply for SNAP?” Bonnie Walker, SNAP Program Outreach Coordinator asked.

Walker is available for assistance with getting in-dividuals qualified. Applications may be completed by mail, fax or email.

“You can call me at 931-379-2955 and we will work together to see if we can get you to the required net income to qualify for SNAP,” Walker concluded.
