The Clean Up- Paint Up- Fix Up committee extended the campaign through the month of June. Much progress was reported with vacant lots being cleared, homes being remodeled, and painting throughout the city.

The American Red Cross reported that they needed 172 pints of blood from residents in order to have enough blood for every sick and hospitalized person in the county.

Figures released by County Savings Bond Chair F. A. Goodman showed that residents invested $19,460 in U. S. Savings bonds, ranking Lewis County as first in sales among the eight co...
