Annie Ruth Brown Scott was born June 27, 1943 in Wayne County, the daughter of the late Walter and Flora Johns Brown. She was united in marriage to Tobe Junior Scott on December 26, 1960. Mr. Scott preceded her in death on September 14, 2013. Mrs. Scott departed this life on May 22, 2020 in Columbia, making her stay in this life some 76 years, 10 months and 25 days.

She is survived by a son, Carl Scott of Hohenwald; two daughters, Gina Scott of Waverly and Dana Scott of Hohenwald; two sisters, Betty James (Joe) and Martha Hensley of Hohenwald; and a brother, Dale Brown (Amy) of Hohenwald. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 52 years and parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Mathis, and a brother, James Brown.

Service was held on May 25, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Adair Funeral Home in Hohenwald with Joe James officiating. Burial followed in the Napier Cemetery.
