Thomas Tharp

Thomas Lester (Junior) Tharp, age 77, of Parsons, died at his home surrounded by family.

He was born October 12, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Thomas L. and Mamie Othell (Shanes) Tharp Sr.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Romain and Fay McElhone; a brother, Joe Tharp; granddaughter, Hillery Peters; and great grandchildren, Emerlyn and Sawyer.

"Tennessee Tom", was a full-time entertainer who was highly skilled in storytelling, singing, cracking jokes, and cheering everyone up with his infectious laugh. He was a United States veteran, a gear heads, a daredevil in his own rite, a truck driver turned teacher, karaoke master and fishing enthusiast. He was an all around free spirit who never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. A "Lone Wolf" that loved His pack!

Mr. Tharp is survived by daughter, Penny Elaine Vollmer (Tharp); son, Curtis Dion (Annette) Tharp; grandchildren, Zachery David Soule, Jacob Drew Soule, Nicholas Dean Soule, Paul Michael (Jenn) Tharp, Traci Nichole Tharp and Mashaya Lynn (Corey) Vela; great grandchildren, Sebastian and Eli Soule and Isaiah Tharp; brothers, George (Pat) Tharp and James D. Tharp; sister, Rachel (Mickey) Graham; and many loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

There are no services currently planned. Adair Funeral and Cremation assisted the family with arrangements.
