City BZA approves variances

Two variances from City of Hohenwald codes were approved unanimously last week when the Board of Zoning Appeals met in a special-called session.

Members present were Barbara Hinson, Jerry Risner, Larry McCutcheon and Scottie Bass, who was asked by the mayor to represent the city.

Michael Creasy’s request to subdivide a lot at 429 Third Avenue West was approved. The standard lot size requires 100 feet of road frontage. The subdivision creates two lots with 79 feet of frontage. Mr. Creasy told the Board he plans to build a house on the lot.

Also approved was a parking variance for the Tennessee College of Applied Technology which plans construction of an additional wing at their campus at 823 West Main. Vice President Randy Young represented TCAT Hohenwald. Also attending for TCAT were Austin Jones and Sam Bohannon of Ingram Civil Engineering, Brentwood.
