A report of a motor vehicle accident in the 600 block of Hinson Street brought out first responders Thursday night after a heavy rainfall ended just after 8 p.m. Joe Lay, 39, of Hohenwald, was traveling north on Hinson Street in a GMC Sierra pick-up when he dropped off the hill, lost control and went airborne into a tree. Lay was ejected on impact according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Brandon Dixon. Lay had crawled back up onto the roadway before help arrived.
