Lewis County High School Ag students began working hard early in the semester growing the beautiful plants that fill the baskets and planters in downtown Hohenwald. "Spring of 2019, the City of Hohenwald was kind enough to shop at our annual spring plant sale. It was at that time that Barbara Hinson and I agreed that we would grow enough in spring of 2020 to fill all the containers in town. My students work extremely hard to offer a plant sale that they can be proud of.

"Our plan this spring was to have my students plant the hanging baskets and planters in town with the plants that they grew at the LCHS Greenhouse. As we all know, the plans we had for 2020 were changed drastically by the Covid 19 pandemic. As with any agriculture endeavor, it did not stop with the pandemic. It just changed the way we would have to go about it. So with the help of my two youngest children and a niece, we carried on! Caring for a greenhouse full of plants without my students was a lot of work, but we were up to the challenge. More than anything I want my students to drive through town and see what a beautiful asset the plants are to our quaint little town.

"I always look forward to spring when my students get to conduct the LCHS Greenhouse Plant Sale that they have worked so hard for. They take ownership and pride in their work and in the plants that they produce. Although they did not get to be part of the actual plant sale or the potting of containers for the city this year, I want every student I had to know that they are the reason our town is a little more beautiful and colorful. Thank you to the City of Hohenwald for allowing us this opportunity," Lori Moseley, Ag Teacher at LCHS said.
