Roy Hanes Shannon, of the Brushy Community of Hickman County, was born March 7, 1938, and died May 27, 2020, at the age of 82 years.

A native of the Maury County community of Cathey's Creek, Roy was the son of the late Hanes Thompson and Rebecca Savage Shannon. He was an elder of the Brushy Church of Christ who loved and lived by the book of Proverbs.

"He loved mission trips, ice cream and a sermon to begin with a light-hearted story," his son stated.
