Commissioner Vacancy – District 1

Constable Vacancy – District 8

Michael King has officially resigned from the Lewis County Board of Commissioners, effective June 22, 2020. Mr. King represented the 1 st District.

Richard Mayberry has officially resigned as a Constable, effective June 24, 2020. Mr. Mayberry was a Constable in the 8 th District.

Both of these vacancies will be filled by the voters of their respective districts during the November 2020 election.

Individuals living in the 1 st District who want to seek the position of County Commissioner, and individuals living in the 8 th District who want to seek the position of Constable, and be on the ballot in November for those offices, may pick up a qualifying petition at the Lewis County Election Office, located at 35 Smith Avenue in Hohenwald, TN.

Petitions must be turned back in to the Election Office by the qualifying deadline of noon on August 20, 2020. The withdrawal deadline is noon on August 27, 2020. You may call the Election Office at (931) 796-0510 for more information.

The individuals elected in November will take office immediately, and will serve out the remainder of Mr. King and Mr. Mayberry’s vacated terms, which expire on August 31, 2022.
