FHU/Dickson to expand Nursing Program

 


Freed-Hardeman University/Dickson is expanding its Bachelor of Science Nursing program to include January admission. In addition to the August cohort, a maximum of 40 students will be able to begin their programs in January 2021.

Taught by a faculty with more than 150 years of nursing experience, FHU/Dickson nursing graduates have achieved a 100 percent NCLEX pass rate since the program’s inception. Classes taught at the Renaissance Center feature state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with the latest in clinical simulation mannequins. The FHU program allows nursing students to complete their BSN degree program and take the RN licensure exam in only 21 months.

Students study pharmacology, women’s health, adult and advanced adult care, pediatrics, mental health, health assessment, fundamentals of nursing, leadership and several other subjects. Clinical experience is gained at Horizon Medical Center and NHC in Dickson and Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia. Several facilities in the Dickson area provide outpatient clinical experience.
