Bids for the construction of the new $3 million plant to be built here for use by the Boston Woven Hose and Rubber Company would be opened at the Court House on August 9. It was also announced that Robert Beaugardus would come to Hohenwald in January as plant manager.

The Lewis County Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol had its first job on July 2 when it came to the aid of a student pilot from Alabama who made a forced landing in a weeded field of James Brown, one mile east of Hohenwald.
