Lewis County resident Hayden Bass is one of three recipients of the Melvin Taylor Memorial Scholarship for the University of Tennessee at Martin Parsons. The scholarship was also awarded to Cloie Joyner from Lexington and Katelyn Ivey from Parsons.

Presenting the checks were Mr. Tom Leitch, Parsons Decatur County Higher Education Foundation, Mr. Melvin’s wife, Rebecca Taylor, and daughter, Erica Pritchard, and Director at UT Martin Parsons Dr. Kelli Deere. Mr. Melvin was a legacy and strong supporter of the UT Martin Parsons Center.
