Using the Code Red system of Lewis County’s Emergency Management Agency, Lewis County Sheriff Dwayne Kilpatrick issued a call Monday to citizens to assistance.

Officials with the department are requesting that anyone who may have seen an abandoned 2002 red Honda Civic in the area of Springer Road on July 17-18, 2020 contact them at 931-796-5096.

The driver of the vehicle, Dean Elvis Berube, age 76, has been missing since that time. Search and rescue efforts by canine units trailed the man to Little Swan Creek Road, where the scent vanished.
