Billy McMullin

August 20, 2020

Billy R. “Tooter” McMullin, age 53 of Summertown passed from this earthly life August 17, 2020.

He was born in Lawrence County on February 13, 1967 to Betty Dye Rone and the late Billy Joe McMullin.

On April 15, 1988, he married his best friend, Debbie Sims, in Mt. Pleasant, and recently celebrated 32 years of marriage.

Billy owned and operated Poor Boys Taxidermy in Summertown for over 13 years. The craftmanship and attention to detail shown in each of his mounts was indescribable. Tooter loved anything that involved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing when he had the time, but especially loved to deer and turkey hunt. Spending time with his family, more specifically his grandson, Aaron, and his K-9 companion, Brownie, was the highlight of his day. There are no words to express how much he meant to his family and how much he will truly be missed, a family member stated.

Along with his wife Debbie, Billy is survived by his grandsons, Aaron Dunn and Trenton Clanton; step-son, James (Kelly) Dunn; brother, Timothy McMullin; sisters, Jenny Burns and Eileen “Sissy” Brewer; brothers-in-law, Doug (Lisa) Sims and Steve (Shannon) Sims; sister-in-law Patty (Michael) Banks; and several “special cousins”.

There will be a private family memorial service scheduled at a later date and time.

Adair Funeral and Cremation Servcies assisted the family with arrangements.
