Lady Tigers too much for LCMS

For the third match in four days, the Lewis County Middle School Lady Panther volleyball team traveled to Lawrenceburg for their third match of the season, taking on the New Prospect Lady Tigers. The Lady Panthers were fresh off their first varsity and junior varsity wins on Tuesday at Ethridge.

The Lady Panther varsity team took the floor against a very strong Lady Tiger varsity, but were unable to mount a charge in the first set before falling 25-7. In a very competitive second set of varsity play, the Lady Panthers fell behind early, but went on a 14-point run to close the gap before ultimately falling in the second set, 25-20, and dropping the match.

In Junior Varsity action, the Lady Panthers and Lady Tigers started slow, but New Prospect went on a quick run to put space between the two teams and came away with a 25-13 first-set victory. The Lady Tigers carried the momentum from the first set into the second set and pulled away to a 25-10 second-set victory to win the junior varsity match.

The Lady Panthers fall to 1-2 in both Varsity and Junior Varsity play.

Coffman too much for LCMS

The LCMS Lady Panther volleyball team was on the road again on Friday, August 14th, the sixth road game of the first seven dates as they traveled to Lawrenceburg to take on the E.O. Coffman Lady Panthers.

Early in the first set, the Coffman Lady Panthers opened up the game on a point run that dropped Lewis County behind and in a hole they were unable to recover from. Coffman took the first set 25-4 before the teams entered the break. After the break, Coffman picked up where they left off and Lewis County found themselves, again, playing from behind. Lewis County did show improvement from the first set, but the scoring difference was still lopsided in favor of the host team, as Coffman cruised to a second set win 25-11 and a 2-0 match victory.

There were no junior varsity matches at E.O. Coffman on that day.
