Lady Mustangs Power Past Lady Panthers

The LCHS Lady Panther volleyball team travelled to Loretto to take on the Lady Mustangs on Tuesday, September 2nd.
The Lady Panthers ran into a powerful Lady Mustang volleyball team on the court on Tuesday. In the opening set of the varsity match the Lady Mustangs set the tone for the match as they used point-runs to pull away from Lewis County to a set win 25-10. The break between sets did little to slow the Loretto girls down as they again powered their way to a big lead and took the second set by the same 25-10 score. In the third, and final, set the Lady Panthers battled for the entire set, matching points until the Lady Mustangs pulled away at the end to win the set 25-21 and the match 3-0.
In the match, Cabry Hill had 12 hits and an ace for Lewis County, Emma Hinson 8 hits and 2 aces, Nylah Halbrooks 8 hits and 4 aces, Keira Halbrooks 6 hits, Brooklyn Carroll 3 hits, and Kaitlyn Hinson one ace.
The junior varsity match had similarities to the varsity matchup as the host Lady Mustangs pulled out to a big lead and took the opening JV set 25-11. After a brief break, the Lady Panthers regrouped and managed to keep the set close before dropping the set 25-21 and the junior varsity match 2-0
In junior varsity play, Keira Halbrooks had 6 hits, Madasyn Durham 5 hits and an ace, Isabel Greve 3 aces, Mye Sevier 1 hit and 1 kill, Reese Duncan 1 ace, and Presly Hill 1 hit.
