Lady Panthers win 3rd straight

The Lewis County High School Lady Panther volleyball team was back in action on Thursday, September 10, 2020 when they hosted the Collinwood Lady Trojans.

In the varsity match, the Lady Panthers defended their home court with pride as they controlled the first set from opening serve, dictating the tempo of the opening set to a 25-15 set win.

After the first break, the Lady Panthers continued to fight off Lady Trojan points and again came out on top in the second set 25-21.

The Lady Trojans had built momentum on the second set and used multiple point-runs to push ahead of the Lady Panthers and take the third set 25-12.

The fourth and final set of the match was a tight fought battle as the teams matched each other point for point until the Lady Panthers secured the set win 25-23 and match victory 3-1.

Cabry Hill highlighted the match with 20 hits and 7 kills, Emma Hinson 13 hits, Keira Halbrooks 7 hits and 5 kills, Brooklyn Carroll 6 hits and 2 aces, Nylah Halbrooks 5 hits and 3 aces, Kaitlyn Hinson 3 aces, and Reagan Webb 1 ace.

In the junior varsity match which preceded the varsity match, the Lady Panther JV lapped the Lady Trojan JV in the first set, a convincing 25-13 set victory.

The Lady Trojans tightened up the second set, but were unable to overcome the Lady Panther lead as Lewis County took set two 25-21 and the match 2-0.

Mya Sevier had 8 hits, 1 kill, and 1 ace, Serenity Warman 6 hits, Keira Halbrooks 4 hits and 1 kill, Madasyn Durham 4 hits, and Isabel Greve, Aly Stutts, and Kerrigan Reeves each had one ace.
