Richard Hinson

Richard Coleman Hinson went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the age of 83.

He was born April 9, 1937 in Linden to the late Leslie and Macil Hinson. In 1965, he married Marilyn Peevyhouse in Centerville and, together, they raised two wonderful children.

Mr. Hinson made a lifelong career working as a Hilo driver for Ford Glass Plant in Nashville and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union before retiring with 41 years of service. After retirement, Richard enjoyed getting his hands dirty working and tending his garden along with his wife. He was an avid crappie fisherman.

On Sunday mornings, he could be found leading the choir at Living Water Ministries. He loved spending time at his home in Burns with his great-grandchildren. R.C. never met a stranger and his smile could brighten even the darkest of days.

Along with his loving wife of 54 years, Marilyn Hinson, he is survived by a son, Robert Russell of Burns; a daughter, Kim Hinson of Burns; sisters, Opal Robertson and Joy (Allen) Kerns; step-mother, Hessie Hinson; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings, Martha Hensley, Audria Hensley, Kenneth Hinson, Shirley Roberson, Donald Ray Hinson, and Jerry Hinson

Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Services in Hohenwald with Brother Clifford Reynolds officiating. Burial followed in Hinson Cemetery in Linden.
