September 22, 1960

Genesco employees who had been on strike at the Hohenwald plant since September 12 met with factory officials. Following several small meetings with strikers, Plant Superintendent Ed Holman said that the plant would be resuming operations on September 30; adding that he felt that “close to 100 percent of the employees would report for work.” The strike leader was discharged for his part in organizing the strike.

Army Private First Class Billy Patton arrived for duty in Korea and was serving with the 4th U. S. Army Missile Command.
