October 1, 2020

We are having another week of fall like weather. The weather people predict that the early part of October will be cool with temperatures down in the thirties. This is not good for flowers which are outside. We have had some showers around the area, which helps to clean the air and also water the plants that are growing. There are still some wildflowers blooming along the roads for people to view.

Those who are sick or shut-in and in need of prayers for whatever the need: William Barber, David and Joyce Barnes, G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Barbara Brown, Dorothy Brown, Amy Carroll, Betty Carroll, Dorothy Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Pam Carroll, Ronnie Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Billy Cothran, Terrell Crews, Marian Dryden, Monica Dupont, Rusty Dupont, Eugene Durham, Polly Edwards, Geneva Grover, Helen Hardin, Myrtle Harvey, Melody Hensley, Christy Hinson, Beverly Holloway, Mickey James, Monette King, Linda Mercer, Wendy McKnight, Rita Stutts Norris, Donna Owens, Coleen Rasbury, Mona Runions, Tommy Shaw, Nell Skelton, Dustin Stutts, Nancy Taylor, Tommy Taylor, Jeanea Warf, Annette Williams, Doug Williams, Margie Willis, Lola Wilson and Selina Young. Please remember these in your daily prayers, along with others you know that are sick or shut-in.

Happy birthday to Shirley Carroll, Retha Graham, and Burton Graham October 3, Patsy Carroll and Peggy Sood October 4, Paige Roberson, Kelsie Perry, and Glenda Atkinson October 5, Nathaniel Rittenberry October 6, and Donnie Haywood and Danny Loveless October 8. Wishing for these many more happy days to celebrate life and hope they have a great birthday.

Happy anniversary to Eddie and Marlene Holt on October 7 and to Joe and Edna Garner October 9. We wish them a very happy day and many more years to celebrate life together.

We express sympathy to the families of Sheri Lynn Tharp, Billy Curry Griner, Nicky Charles Leaver, Alvin Eugene “Daddy Gene” Durham, Ray Baugus Dudley, Maggie Jean Gosset, Patricia Marie Bryant, Jerry W. James, Sandra Lee James Crowe, and Russ Dupont. Prayers for these families and any other families who have lost loved ones.

I am glad some of the younger children are getting to play ball. This is something they miss and many don’t get enough exercise so they will be getting more and enjoying this for a while anyway. Thanks to those who take the time to do this for them.

I hope you take time to call, visit, or send cards even if you can’t visit those who are sick or shut-in. They really miss being able to be out and visit with friends. Many in the nursing homes or rehab centers are isolated for people except those caregivers that help them. This is a sad time in our nation when so many things are put on hold or completely stopped because of the problems our nation faces.

I pray God will bless you with happiness and health during the coming days and that there will be more good days than bad ones.
