Oktober Heritage Festival
It’s just around the corner!
October 1, 2020
Well folks, it’s that time of year again. The Oktober Heritage Festival has been scheduled for the 9th and 10th of October. Yard sales will stretch as far as the eye can see and longer than your feet can handle walking.
This year, there will be plenty of food vendors and even a food court at Industrial Park to satisfy just about any craving. The food court will be serving hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chips, funnel cakes, snow cones, moonpies and drinks.
Once you’ve had a chance to roam around and hunt for your latest treasure, head on over to The Lot where the Chamber of Commerce has set up food vendors, a Kids Corner and more, all while you listen to hand-selected musicians.
Music can be heard from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday and 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Artists such as the Sugar Ridge Bluegrass Band, the Catchfire Praise and Worship Team, the High Mileage Outlaws and many more are scheduled to play.
Even the kids will have entertainment with an inflatable 16-foot slide, obstacle course and bounce house, all sponsored by Inflata-World and sanitized routinely. There will even be snow cones to help the kids cool off from all the fun.
If a good-looking 18-wheeler or a sharp ‘56 Bel-Air gets your motor running, then the Oktober Heritage Festival has you covered too! The 2nd annual Lewis County Cancer Fund Car Show will take place in the Courthouse Parking Lot from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., along with the Big Rig Cruise-In. Big rigs will start lining up at 8 a.m. on North Court Street and donations can be made for the Lewis County Cancer Victims Fund.
So get ready to grab your most comfortable pair of shoes, mark your calendars for next weekend and let the fall fun begin!
