One of the biggest successes of the Oktober Heritage Festival was the High Forest Masters Climbing Competition, organized by Hohenwald's Brandon Stoner, owner of Timber Smith X.

"To keep my certification as an arborist, we have to compete in climbing competitions," said Stoner. "This year Debbie Landers let us be a part of Oktoberfest and we had an awesome time."

Twenty-two participants signed up for the competition as well as ten volunteers.

The competition was held at the memorial park where the competitors, who are vocational arborists, climbed up trees to assess and remove deadwood....
