September Unemployment Rates Decrease in Every County

The unemployment rates in each of Tennessee’s 95 counties decreased in September, according to new data released by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Twenty-seven counties recorded unemployment rates below 5 percent, while 68 counties have a rate of 5 percent or higher. There are no counties with an unemployment rate higher than 10 percent in September.
Lewis County declined to 5.5 percent from 7.4 percent. Surrounding counties reported declines: Wayne County 5 percent, down from 7.3 percent; Hickman County 4.3 percent, down from 6 percent; Perry County, 5.9 percent, down from 8.1 percent; Lawrence County 5.4 percent, down from 7.7 percent; and Maury County 5.8 percent, down from 8.1 percent.
