Bessie Belle Spears Edwards was born April 5, 1923 in Hohenwald to the late Alma Doyle and Richard Spears. She passed away November 10, 2020 at the age of 97 years.

Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leonard Carlton Edwards, and siblings, Beadie (Wilbur) Nix, Sara (Robert) Dodson, Hassel (May) Spears, Hershel (Dell) Spears and Richard (Colleen) Spears.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Ron) Boyle of Hendersonville and Sharon Edwards of Hohenwald; son, Rick (Regina) Edwards of Linden; six grandchildren, Michelle (Billy) Nollner, Kristy (Charles) Hartsook, Vickie (Richard) Hinson, Chaz (Savannahlynn) Edwards, Trey Edwards and Brandi (Jason) Holder; eight great-grandchildren, Madyson and Makaylee Nollner, Samantha Hartsook, Brooklynn (Tanner) Verslius, Bryson Edwards, Bree and Gavin Holder and Kirsten Hinson.

Mrs. Edwards was a member of Lomax Church of Christ. She enjoyed all family events, church events, family visits, sports (especially football) on TV, crocheting, knitting, flowers and travel to visit relatives.

After her marriage, she lived in Jasper, Sheffield, Alabama, Nashville and returned to Hohenwald where she spent the remainder of her life.

Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 13 in the McDonald Funeral Home chapel in Hohenwald with Jeff Spears and Malcolm George officiating. Burial followed in the Lomax Cemetery.
