Lewis County continues to see a spike in Covid-19 cases. Over the last seven days, the average positive percentage was 16.9 percent.

As of Tuesday, the county has 787 positive cases, 14 deaths, 23 hospitalized, 686 inactive/recovered, and 89 active cases.

Over the past seven days, Lewis County averaged 42.29 tests per day.

Lewis County Schools Director Benny Pace stated, “Overall our Covid numbers have decreased, but with the impending weather on Monday and cold weather and wet roads on Tuesday, I made the decision to close schools. This also gave us extra days out of the buildings in hopes to decrease our numbers even more.”

Lewis County High School has been on a rotation schedule for two weeks, but was scheduled to be back in full capacity on Wednesday.

Symptoms of Covid-19 are cough, fever, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. Some individuals can be infected without any symptoms.
