Country life is a blessing

It is a cold winter morning as I sit here with a cup of hot coffee and by a good warm fire, this old wood heater is sure doing a good job. We’ve had it a long time. I can smell the wood smoke as it drifts to the ground. I just heard that some wintry weather is coming in soon, I am ready for it. I got firewood stacked on the back porch and food on the shelves. I am blessed.

I just heard our neighbor’s old John Deere tractor coming down their driveway. He has a bale of hay and he’s going to feed his cattle before the storm comes in. They hear him and they are all headed his way.

Sure is a peaceful morning here in this little valley. But not this way outside our little peaceful zone, trouble everywhere. Our world seems to have turned upside down. Sickness, homeless, hunger and sadness everywhere. A year ago, seems everyone and everything was doing good. Then, seems overnight, something went wrong. What happened? Were we all so busy we forgot God and where all our blessings were coming from?

He tells us in His word that we will go thru valleys, but He will go with us there in that valley and He will hold our hand.

I’m sure there will be times when there will be only one set of footprints. Is that when He is carrying us?

Well back to this beautiful cold morning, warm fire, hot cup of coffee and the sound of the neighbors’ old John Deere tractor and cows. God has it all under control and He’s the light at the end of the tunnel.
