Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was founded in 2015 in order to honor and support those who vowed to serve and protect our community.

On Monday, January 4, County Mayor Jonah Keltner signed a proclamation declaring January 9, 2021 to be "Law Enforcement Appreciation Day" in Lewis County.

The proclamation was designed to highlight the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, Hohenwald Police Department and the Lewis County Constables.

"In moments of danger and desperation, the first people we turn to are our local Law Enforcement Officers, who show extreme bravery as they do not hesitate to risk their own lives and safety, while protecting our citizens and our community," the Proclamation reads.
