Education Foundation begins 28th year

January 28, 2021

Twenty-eight years ago, 1993, local business and professional leaders formed the Lewis County Education Foundation to assist graduating seniors at Lewis County High School with college tuition. Scholarships are awarded each year at the end of the high school term.

There are businesses and individuals that donate money to support the Foundation and fund scholarships. In the past, some scholarships have been given to encourage students to pursue a particular field of study, some are given in memory of or in honor of someone.

Donations can be made at any time by sending a check to Education Foundation of Lewis County, P.O. Box 221, Hohenwald, TN 38462 or taken to Foundation Treasurer Karen Eglinton at Bank of Lewis County, 434 East Main Street in Hohenwald.

Anyone wishing to sponsor a scholarship in memory of or in honor of someone may contact Mrs. Eglinton by February 19.

For additional information, call 931-446-2746 or 931-796-2272 and ask for Karen. All funds need to be collected by April 1st.

“The Foundation Board would like to thank you for your past support and hope for your continued support in the future,” stated Barbara J. Hinson, Board Chairman.
