February 4, 2021

The Tennessee Department of Health rates restaurants and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture rates convenience stores on a scale of 0-100 based on the business’ practice of proper food preparation, food storage, cleanliness of facilities and more.

Businesses are typically evaluated twice a year. Non-priority violations cost the business 1-2 points, while priority violations cost 4-5 points. Priority violations must be corrected immediately or within 10 days of the initial inspection.
