Still scattered showers around the area from day to day and most days saw very little sunshine for long periods of the time. There was even some sleet on Saturday and then Sunday late evening. Light snow was sprinkled around on the rooftops and trampolines in the area on Monday, but, even though it was in the low thirties most of the day, the snow left quickly. Hope this does not mean six more weeks of cold snowy weather. My buttercups and tulips are up and some people even have some that have bloomed. Some days the temperatures have been in the forties and even fifties, but the wind has been so cold that it seems colder and it seems to blow right through you.

We express sympathy to the families of John Priddy, Nolan Beatrice Shinn, James Donald “Don” Brewer, Peggy Faye Bartlett Mayberry, Robert Lester Lambert, Thelma Christine Jenkins, Paul M. Bridges, Ruth Claud Reece, James Wilson Curl, and Wilma Joyce Keathley. Prayers for these families and any other families who have lost loved ones.

My prayers are for your family to have a great month as we start February of the year 2021. Hopefully, you will be blessed with health and happiness and be able to do those things you enjoy doing. The past several months, almost a year, we have not been able to go and do the things we enjoy if it involves being around a crowd of people. But now, it seems it is getting better and most churches are back to having regular services and even some events that have been skipped.

Remember those who are less fortunate, especially those in the nursing facilities as they cannot have visitors as usual. Some are still quarantined and unable to see anyone except those who care for them daily. We can send cards and even, in some cases, call those who are shut-in. Let us not forget them as we could be in the same situation sometime.
