Terry Smith

On the morning of February 10, 2021, Terry Robert Smith left this earthly world at the age of 65, surrounded by his loving family in his Watertown home.

He was born in Trenton, Michigan to the late Robert Owen and Dimple June (Maynard) Smith on June 28, 1955. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Davis; great-granddaughter, Hazlee Grace Pulley; sisters, Rhonda Smith and Barbara Smith; and brothers, Edwin Smith, Jeff Smith, and Dennis Smith.

At the age of 17, Smith enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed the simple, laid back life, spending time with family and making friends wherever he went. To say he had a heart of gold was an understatement. It did not matter what walk of life you were from, he made it his mission to listen and become a friend you knew you could depend on. He enjoyed taking the family on fishing trips making memories of fun, laughter, and love. Terry loved heading out on a camping adventure to NACO or other campgrounds with the family in tow. He had a strong, loving bond to his K-9 companion Buster. When he was not camping or fishing, he spent his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, soaking in every moment he could with them. He lived his life to the fullest and taught his children to do the same.

Terry is survived by his wife, Jean Smith; daughters, Joy (Mike) Zimmermann, and Teri (Alan) Gilliland; a son, Robert (Annie) Smith; grandchildren, Allison Pulley, Daran Pulley, Aaron Davis, Kendall Landrum, Gage Landrum, Marianna Angel, Ashton Smith, Bryson Zimmermann, Savannah Barton, Austin Barton, Brittany Gilliland, and Christopher Gilliland; great-grandchildren, Myles Davis, Zeldon Davis, Mabry Pulley, Wellings Landrum, Embryn Landrum, and Dakota Freeman; and siblings, Sandra (Dale) McCollough, and James Smith.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Adair Funeral & Cremation Services with burial at Davis-Oak Grove Cemetery.
