Mr. Douglas Wayne Spurgeon, age 69 of Hohenwald, unexpectedly passed away at his home on February 15, 2021. He was born in Lewis County on October 14, 1951 to the late Clarence and Mildred Duncan Spurgeon. Doug was a frequent visitor to the City Café where he enjoyed sitting and talking to the locals. Mr. Spurgeon was a lifelong member of Bass Masters. On nice days he would head to the Tennessee River to fish with hopes of catching enough to host a family fish fry that evening.
